The Spirit of Holiness and I
The Spirit of Holiness and I
Key Theme Throughout Scripture:
People Having Relationships with Father God & Jesus
The Foundation
People today have the opportunity to be God's friend in which they can talk with Him and feel His Spirit
• Scripture teaches us that Adam, Abraham, Moses, John, Peter, Paul, and others had a relationship with God in which they talked with and/or felt God's Spirit
God is alive today and did you know that God has an actual name
• In the oldest biblical manuscripts (and this site), Father God is often referred by His Hebrew name of Elohim (אלהים) which means God of Water and Jesus by his Aramaic name of Yeshua (ישוע) which means Salvation or Savior
It is helpful to know that Elohim (Father God) and Yeshua (Jesus) can exist in different forms such as a Cloud or Light or Spirit. Biblical examples include:
• Exodus 13:21-22 The Jewish People saw Father God as a Cloud during the day and Fire at night
• Mathew 17:5 Father God as a Cloud talking to Yeshua and Apostles
• Acts 22:6-8 Yeshua (Jesus) reveals himself to Paul as The Light and talks with him
• Act 16:6-7 Refers to two Spirits, one is The Spirit of Yeshua and another, The Holy Spirit, who is Father God in this passage
• 1Samuel 16:12-13 Father God talking and then giving some of His Spirit to David
• Ezekiel 36:25-27 Father God saying he will give man some of His Spirit to help man live holy
• Acts 5:30-32 Peter says God will give The Spirit of Holiness to those that believe in Him
• In early New Testament manuscripts "The Holy Spirit" is often written as "The Spirit of Holiness"
Spirit of Holiness (Holy Spirit) can have multiple meanings based on the Bible passage context
• Two examples: 1. Can be one of the forms of God 2. God giving some of His Spirit to people
